Serena Williams has reached the Wimbledon ladies' singles final for the eighth time in her career.

The five-time champion beat Maria Sharapova in straight sets and will face Spain's Garbine Muguruza in Saturday's decider.

It was a comfortable win for Williams, taking it 6-2 6-4 which means she has now won her last 17 matches against Sharapova.

Meanwhile, Muguruza got past Agnieszka Radwanska.

The 21-year-old Spanish player is making her first Grand Slam final appearance and has previously faced Williams three times, losing twice and winning once at the French Open.
