FIFA President Sepp Blatter and UEFA President Michel Platini are expected to be banned from football later today for at least five years.

The fate of both men will be revealed later today in Zurich, Switzerland as the FIFA Ethics Committee issues its judgement. If Platini is banned, his chances of running to become FIFA President will have evaporated.

Both men are under scrutiny over an alleged "disloyal payment" between the two in 2011. Blatter paid Platini two million Swiss Francs for work done between 1999 and 2002.

If found guilty, Blatter and Platini are expected to immediately appeal their decisions. Blatter has been involved with FIFA since 1975 and became President in 1998. Platini became UEFA President in 2007.
