Six Nations Championship hopes are very much alive for Wales after a Dan Biggar try helped Warren Gatland's side to a 20-13 defeat of France in Paris.

Leigh Halfpenny kicked five penalties for Wales.

Biggar's effort was one of only two tries in the game, the other courtesy of France's Brice Dulin late in the game. Dulin's try was converted by Lopez - who also scored his team's two penalties - but the French squad trailed by seven points at the final whistle.

Meanwhile Italy are off the boards in this season's competition.

A last minute penalty try, converted by Tommaso Allan, gave the Azzurri a 22-19 victory over Scotland at Murrayfield.

It was Scotland at 16 points to 15 for Italy at the break, but it was the penalty try that ultimately decided the final result after a low scoring second half.

Munster meanwhile have gone top of the Guinness Pro12 tonight, with their victory over previous table-toppers Glasgow at Irish Independent Park.

Final score was Munster 22-10 Glasgow at the Cork stadium, which was officially reopened today by Minister Simon Coveney.

Munster led by 12 points to 0 at half time, and landed a total of four tries over the course of the game - courtesy of Jack O'Donoghue, Eusebio Guinazu, Keith Earls and CJ Stander.
