Manchester City are just three points off Premier League leaders Chelsea tonight.
Yaya Touré's first half penalty gave City a 1-0 win at home to Everton.
City's win came at a cost, however, with Sergio Aguero limping out early with a suspected thigh injury.
It follows Chelsea's 2-1 defeat away to Newcastle - the Blues' first of the season. It was Papiss Cisse with a brace for Newcastle at St James' Park.
Elsewhere, Arsenal had Callum Chambers sent off in a 3-2 defeat away to Stoke.
Charlie Austin scored his eighth of the season and was sent off as QPR beat Burnley 2-0 at Loftus Road to move out of the bottom three. Burnley remain in second last place, with only 12 points.
Hull replace QPR in the dropzone following their scorless draw with West Brom, with Graham Dorrans missing an early penalty for the Baggies at KC Stadium.
Liverpool, meanwhile, failed to make it three wins from three with a scoreless draw with Sunderland at Anfield.
There were also no goals at White Hart Lane where Tottenham faced Crystal Palace.
