Liverpool have announced the signing of Sadio Mane from Southampton.

The 24-year-old Senegalese star has signed a long-term deal with Jurgen Klopp's side, after spending two years with Southampton. In his two years in England he has scored 21 league goals.

Mane entered the history books in May 2015 when he scored a hat-trick in less than three minutes against Aston Villa. It remains the quickest hat-trick in Premier League history.

“Today is a big day and I am very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe", Mane told Liverpool's official website.

“It’s a club that has won a lot of trophies and has a big history. Now I am looking forward to meeting all the staff and my teammates and starting the season.”

Mane is Liverpool's third signing of the summer after Loris Karius and Joel Matip. Both men joined from Bundesliga clubs.
