The British comedian has been gushing about how much he loves Jemima, and now friends say he has designed the ring and is ready to pop the question.
The couple have been living together in Jemima's West London home for the past few weeks and are said to be ready for marriage, despite only beginning their relationship in September 2013.
"A proposal is definitely imminent. Russell's been working with a friend of his, jeweller Johnathon Arndt, to create the perfect ring. He wants it to include Buddhist and Islamic symbols, and intertwining of their two faiths," a source revealed to Britain's Grazia magazine.
Friends say Russell had wanted to propose this week, when Jemima turns 40 on January 30, but the ring wasn't ready.
"Russell is planning a trip to Asia for the two of them in the spring, when he intends to propose.
"Of course Jemima has to say yes first, but he can't help but get ahead of himself," the insider continued, commenting that Russell is already planning the big day.
Both have been married before, and 38-year-old Russell's divorce from Katy Perry in 2012 was highly publicised. Their marriage lasted just 14 months.
Jemima was married to cricketer Imran Khan for nine years, and the former couple have two children together, Sulaiman, 17, and 14-year-old Qasim.
Russell recently told British TV host Jonathan Ross just how deeply he feels for Jemima.
"I really love her. I'm very, very happy in a relationship that feels very different from anything I've experienced before," Russell gushed.
