Ulster's Ruan Pienaar has been ruled out of their RaboDirect PRO12 match against Edinburgh on Friday.

The South African sustained a shoulder injury in Ulster's win over the Scarlets last Friday.

Meanwhile, prop Callum Black is also a doubt after suffering an ankle injury last weekend.

He will undergo an MRI scan later in the week to determine the extent of the injury.
