After winning a Facebook competition, Vyron Phillips was one fight away from a $100,000 payout. Who was standing in his way? Nine-time world champion boxer, Roy Jones Jr.

It was quite the carrot that lured the 33-year-old MMA fighter with no professional boxing experience into the ring against Jones and to his credit he made it through the first round.

The outcome, sadly, was inevitable. With just 45 seconds remaining in the second round came the hammer blow.

Despite getting back to his feet, Phillips was visibly shaken the referee called a halt to the fight.

The bout was sanctioned by The Arizona State Boxing Commission and headlined a pay-per-view bill on the American television channel UR Shows TV.
