Nice Rosberg has won the first race of the 2014 Formula 1 season, winning in convincing fashion in the Australian Grand-Prix.

Rosberg added weight to the predictions of Mercedes as early season favourites, although his teammate Lewis Hamilton retired on lap three with an engine problem.

Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo was second, with McLaren’s debutant Dane Kevin Magnussen putting in a superb performance to take third.

Jensen Button was fourth, while Fernando Alonso of Ferrari and Valtteri Bottas of Williams’ were fifth and sixth, respectively.

Reigning champion Sebastian Vettel was a victim of early technical trouble, retiring on the fourth lap with power-unit problems.
