Sunderland have confirmed the capture of Jack Rodwell from Manchester City.

The midfielder has agreed a five-year deal, and will make the move for an undisclosed fee.

He found regular first-team football hard to come by at City, after breaking into the England team while at previous club Everton.

The 23-year-old has suffered a number of niggling injuries over the years, since making his Everton breakthrough in 2008.
