Liverpool have named James Milner as their vice-captain for the new season.
That follows the England midfielder's arrival from Manchester City and the installation of Jordan Henderson as skipper following Steven Gerrard's departure.
Explaining his decision, manager Brendan Rodgers says Milner's attitude has impressed him already.

"He's in two and a half hours before he trains. He does his work, gives his maximum in his work and he prepares himself like an elite player should. But he's also got big character," said Rodgers.
