Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane is the 11th best paid player in MLS according to new figures released on Thursday.

The LA Galaxy captain earns $3,500,000 a year. That's almost half of what team-mate Steven Gerrard earns. Both players, along with Giovanni dos Santos earn more than the rest of the LA Galaxy team combined.

Orlando City's Kaka is the top paid player in the league. The Brazilian international earns $6,660,000 in a base salary. That is quickly followed by Toronto FC's Sebastian Giovinco. The Italian was last season's top scorer in the league. He earns $5,600,000 before add-ons.

Both Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard are both in the top-five. Despite not playing for New York City this season, Lampard earns a guaranteed $6,000,000 annually. That's $400,000 more than team-mate Andrea Pirlo.

The wages of Irish internationals Kevin Doyle and Sean St. Ledger were also published. Doyle is the third highest player with Colorado Rapids. He earns a base salary of $1,075,000 a year. Despite not playing yet for the club, former Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard will pocket more than $2,000,000.
