The last few months have been pretty frustrating for Robbie Brady.
The Hull and Ireland winger had made a solid start to his first full season in the Premier League when he succumbed to a hernia problem which has kept him out for almost the entire season.
Tonight, the Dubliner spoke to Ger about a frustrating season on the pitch and his plans for the future.
"I had a good start though I hadn't played pain free this season but I was managing it well. I had a few goals and I started well," said the ex-Manchester United winger who four goals in 18 appearances in the early part of the season.
Last month, he underwent surgery to clear up the injury and although he was expected to miss the rest of the season, he is optimistic about an earlier return and maybe an FA Cup final could be a reality if Hull make it.
"It just got to that time where I needed to get something sorted. I'm glad it's done now. I was supposed to be out for the rest of the season but I'm a couple of weeks ahead of schedule. I'm feeling good and feeling strong. Hopefully I'll be back for the last couple of games, if I'm lucky."
That will put him in contention for Martin O'Neill's squad for the upcoming summer friendlies and he is optimistic that he can up to speed for those encounters.
The 22-year-old also chatted to Ger about the pool of technical players in Ireland, the "big step" he had to take when leaving Man United permanently in 2013 and about another major step in his personal life - becoming a new father.
