Robbie Brady will captain Ireland on Tuesday night for their international friendly against Iceland in the absence of the injured Seamus Coleman.

Coleman suffered a horrific double-leg break on Friday evening during Ireland's World Cup qualifier against Wales at the Aviva Stadium. The Donegal man has successfully undergone surgery, but Ireland boss Martin O'Neill revealed there is no timeline on to his return to the pitch.

Dubliner Brady will fill the captaincy role in his absence after missing Friday's game through suspension.

John O'Shea, Jonathan Walters, Glenn Whelan and James McCarthy have all been released to their clubs following the game, with a number of new faces set to feature on Tuesday night.

O'Neill also mentioned Preston North End duo Daryl Horgan and Andy Boyle, who he says have settled into the squad well since their first call-up last year.
