QPR have announced the capture of Irish international Richard Dunne.

The 33-year-old has agreed a one-year deal with the Championship club after he was released by Aston Villa at the end of last season.

QPR manager Harry Redknapp has described Dunne as a "top-class defender and a great guy". He added that he is the type of character that the London club need as they look to make an immediate return to the Premier League.
