Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo did not deserve the Ballon D'Or for 2013.
The Frenchman finished third overall in the race for the award after a year in which he played a key role as Bayern Munich won a domestic treble and the World Club Cup.
Ribery told Munich magazine TZ: "I won everything, with the team and individually. Ronaldo won nothing. I feel I deserved this title. There are so many politics."
Ribery was unhappy that the deadline for voting was extended following Ronaldo's performance against Sweden and also hit out at the lack of Bayern players in the FIFA XI, hinting at a bias towards Barcelona and Real Madrid.
"There are only 3 Bayern players there. This is madness! Muller must be there, Alaba, Schweinsteiger, Robben. We won five titles, made history. Who has done that before?"
Ribery has other issues to worry about however. Today, the France international's trial into charges of having sex with an underage prostitute began in Paris.
He and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, who was also charged, could face up to three years in jail. Ribery claims that he did not know that Zahia Dehar was underage.
