Arsenal are reportedly targeting Seamus Coleman as a their future right-back should Bacary Sagna leave the club when his contract expires in the summer. A report in Sunday People Sport claims the league leaders see Coleman as the ideal candidate to replace Sagna should the Frenchman leave the club and may pay up to £10 million for the Everton man. A report in The Metro claims the deal could be worth even more, possibly £12 million.
Arsene Wenger reportedly views Sagna remaining at the club as the preferable option to bringing in a new player, but should the 30 year old Frenchman choose to leave in the summer Arsenal will target Coleman, who will line out against Arsenal today, as a replacement.
Coleman has been ever present for Everton in the Premier League this season, appearing in 14 league games while scoring twice and providing one assist. The 25 year old captained Ireland for the first time in October's 3-0 World Cup qualifying defeat to Germany. The former Sligo Rovers man signed a five and a half year deal with Everton last December and the length of that deal would mean Arsenal would have to pay a premium price to get their man.
