Reports in Ulster claim that Diarmuid Connolly is to appeal his 12-week ban.

According to The Irish News, the Dublin forward has already began proceedings have his ban lowered, or even rescinded.

Last week, Connolly was banned for 12-weeks for an incident in Dublin's win over Carlow in the Leinster Championship.

The proposed ban, for "minor physical interference" came after Connolly was adjudged to face made contact with linesman Ciaran Branagan.

Last week it was reported, that Connolly was to accept the ban, but reports of the appeal means the story could continue for the coming weeks.

A 12-week ban meant the Dublin forward would not be allowed play in any games for club or county, and would not be seen in a Dublin jersey until the All-Ireland semi-finals, should the reigning champions have reached that stage.

The Irish News have reported that the Central Hearings Committee will hear his appeal in the coming days.
