Aston Villa may be about to go on the hunt for their third permanent manager of the season.

Remi Garde is reportedly considering his position as manager of the team, after they failed to sign anyone in the January transfer window. Villa were one of two Premier League teams who failed to dip their toes in the transfer market along with Manchester United.

Villa remain at the foot of the Premier League table on 13 points. They lie ten points away from safety and look on course to be relegated from the top-tier for the first time since they played in Division Two in 1987-88.

Garde has failed to improve the team since taking over in November. His side have only won twice during his tenure with both wins coming at home in January. Garde's first and only Premier League win came against Crystal Palace before his side defeated Wycombe Wanderers in a FA Cup Third Round Replay.

Seydou Doumbia and Whabi Khazri were among the players linked with the Birmingham side throughout the month but they joined relegation rivals Newcastle and Sunderland respectively.

Villa's last game was an FA Cup defeat to Manchester City at the weekend. If Garde were to stay, he has 15 games to save the side from relegation, starting with a game away to Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
