Liverpool’s Pepe Reina is set to join Napoli on a season-long loan deal, where he will re-join his former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez, according to reports from the BBC.
The thirty year old keeper has apparently been dropped down in the Anfield pecking order following the singing of Belgian ‘keeper Simon Mignolet from Sunderland, for £9m last month.
Reina follows the former Liverpool goalkeeping coach, Xavi Xalero, to Naples – a factor which would have been crucial in his decision to swap the Premier League for Serie A, as Reeina reportedly credits Xalero’s coaching for much of his success at Anfield.
Reina has been at Anfield since 2005.
