QPR manager Harry Redknapp says he has not met many "classier football players" than Rio Ferdinand.

The former England captain has been banned for three games and fined £25,000 by the Football Association for a comment he made on Twitter.

It is believed to relate to a derogatory comment in which he referred to somebody’s mother in pejorative terms.

Ferdinand was absent from the QPR team which maintained their first clean sheet of the season in a 2-0 home win against Aston Villa.

The ex-United centre-back is set to miss QPR’s clashes with Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle United but will return for their potential relegation scrap against Leicester on November 29th.

Redknapp was reluctant to have his say on the matter.
