Gareth Bale scored a perfect hat-trick (left foot, right foot and header) in Real Madrid's 4 - 0 win over Real Valladolid to make it seven league goals in nine games since moving to the Bernabeu.

Surely that's a sign that he has slotted in seamlessly in the Spanish capital since his €91 million move from Tottenham.

Dermot Corrigan was on the line from Madrid to chat about just that on The Football Show tonight.

"The three goals on Saturday were more poacher's goals but he can't complain. He's got seven goals in his last nine games and he seems happy around the place. Before he was mopey and wasn't so happy in Madrid but that's all changed now."

Meanwhile Real are taking steps to rid themselves of the right wing fan group which used to occupy the Curva Sur of the Bernabeu stadium after years of tolerance and even a good relationship with Jose Mourinho.

"They're not a nice bunch. You can kind of dismiss them as being kids or punks. But they're a fairly big group of guys, numbering about 1,000 members. They control some of the merchandising and also a bar near the ground. They get a good deal from the club with tickets. But there is in-fighting in the group between the older guys and a younger group.

"The club are now trying to get them out of the ground completely and bring younger fans in. But these are people who have been around the club for 30 - 40 years and would have been close to people like Raul and even Mourinho last season. Since then some have been fined and banned for showing Nazi symbols at a game against Atletico and selling fascist memorabilia at a market. There's all these bad news stories for the club and that's why they want to get rid of them."

Corrigan also touched on the issues at Barcelona. The Catalans suffered a second defeat in the space of a week at Athletic Bilbao.

While the Blaugrana are still top of the La Liga - just - he admitted that there are some issues to resolve at the Camp Nou.

"They haven't been playing well for a while. They have been more direct but it doesn't seem to be working. It was also strange to see Xavi and Iniesta subbed off when they were chasing a win and it doesn't seem as if Barcelona trusted in what they were doing," said Corrigan who also pointed out that manger Gerardo Martino seemed a bit tetchy in the press conference after the game.
