Jason Quigley has lost his World Championship final on a unanimous decision.
Quigley lost to Kazakhstan’s Zhanibek Alimkhanuly in the final, losing all three rounds on the judge’s scorecards. The final scoring of the three rounds was 29-28, 30-27, 30-27, all to the Kazakh fighter.
Despite the defeat - Quigley's first in 33 fights - Quigley still becomes the first Irishman to win silver at the Boxing World Championships.

Quigley was knocked to the canvas in the first round and despite recovering well was always chasing the fight from that point.
