Brendan Rodgers has indicated that Liverpool are set to make one big signing before the transfer window closes.

And all the speculation is pointing towards a £16 million move for Ukraine international Yevhen Konoplyanka.

But what do we know about the striker?

A product of Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk's academy, the 24-year-old has spent his entire senior career at a club which is currently in the midst of a battle for a Champions League qualifier spot.

As a mark of his status within Ukraine, he was named the country's Player of the Year for 2013. 

The club currently play a 4-2-3-1 with Konoplyanka operating on the left of the three. His goal record from that position has been adequate with 5 goals in 16 appearances (he is the club's third highest scorer in the Ukrainian Premier League this season) and a further four goals in seven Europa League and domestic cup games.

Assists-wise he has also notched six this term in all competitions.

Stylistically, Konoplyanka is a creative and technical player who likes to cut or dribble in from the left onto his right foot (as you can see above). 

Internationally he has found the net eight times in 35 games, including a superb strike against England in a 2014 World Cup qualifier...
