PRO 14 CEO Martin Anayi today said there is a possibility for a future overseas meeting between Leinster and Munster.

Anayi was speaking with OTB's Nathan Murphy at the launch of the PRO-14 broadcast deal with Eir Sport.

Although the CEO said it isn’t something they will be looking at in the immediate future. He said it currently doesn’t make sense to peruse that possibility at the moment, but it's something he says they would love to do in the future.

“I’d love to do that, or in Boston. That would do really well. I think what we got to be aware of, is that we’d be taking a game away from the fans here in Ireland.  So far we’ve decided that it’s not worth doing. “

The PRO 14 chief said he is more concerned about solidifying, and growing their current markets. Anayi confirmed PRO 14 want to be a success in the United States, but now is not the time. He says the current focus is to assist the sport in America, and to fully support Major League Rugby.

“We make sure we maximize our potential in Ireland before we look anywhere else. Having said that, I love rugby, and I want rugby to be big in America. Being supportive of the guys that are running the MLR, and that tournament.”
