Fog has delayed action today at the Porsche European Open in Germany, with action set to get underway more than two hours after the original tee time.

Heavy fog descended on the course and failed to clear in time for the first players to get underway at 7.20am.

Play has only just commenced, with Padraig Harrington, Paul Dunne, Ruaidhri McGee and Michael Hoey are all in action today.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, Ryder Cup team member Martin Kaymer said he always intended on playing at the tournament.

"I'm the kind of guy who likes to play a few in a row," he told Nick Dye. "Obviously you shouldn't talk too much about the Ryder Cup this week. I'm here to play as well as I can.

"In the past it's always been the case that I would play well when I play three or four in-a-row. It's going to be a long tournament. Last week we had a lot of rain delays. This week is going to be the same, longer than normally with [conditions]."
