Last night, former Donegal footabller Brendan Devenney told Off The Ball that Monaghan have the ability to bridge the gap to the Top 3 or 4 counties in the country.

Reaching a third Ulster championship decider in a row certainly suggests that there is potential there.

Roscommon manager John Evans claimed there was potential for his team to develop into a team challenging for honours in the years to come after winning the Division 2 title, although defeat to Sligo on Saturday dents those perceptions and as the Yeats County's Adrian Marren told us last night, Evans' words only motivated the opposition.

Tipperary have done well at underage level in recent years, matching the likes of Kerry for trophies and achievements at minor and U21 level.

But which county really has the potential to join the likes of Dublin, Mayo, Kerry and Donegal among football's elite in the next 3-5 years?
