Updated 11:10 AM - Suarez has been fined by his team for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic in yesterday's match. The player has said he will request that the money is donated to the Hillsborough Family Support Group.
He has also been offered anger management counselling by the Professional Footballers' Association.
The Football Association will launch their own investigation shortly, with most expecting strong disciplinary action such as a suspension for the remainder of the season.
Liverpool's own Brendan Rodgers earlier said they might dismiss the player despite his stellar goal record, although the club's managing director Ian Ayre has now said they do not intend to sell the player following any disciplinary hearings.
Former Liverpool manager Phil Thompson spoke to Newstalk Breakfast about the incident this morning.

Suarez now has a track record for carving his incisors into opponents' flesh.
On the 20th of November 2010 while at Ajax, Suarez got into hot water for biting the neck of PSV player Otman Bakkal during an otherwise toothless 0 - 0 draw, incurring a ban and fine from his own club and a seven game suspension from the Dutch FA...
Suarez may be the most famous wannabe vampire in sport after his actions yesterday, but for a long-time it was a title held by former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson who famously bit Evander Holyfield during a title fight in 1997. Tyson was unsurprisingly disqualified...
Biting an opponent on the arm or neck is one thing. But biting a team-mate's privates is scarcely believable.
But it has happened. In 2009 former Sevilla footballer Francisco Gallardo celebrated a goal with team-mate Jose Antonio Reyes of Arsenal fame by sinking his teeth into Reyes' genitals.
Gallardo ludicrously claimed he did not "offend" anyone but he got a fine from the Spanish FA for violating "sporting decorum and dignity"...
