Fresh from winning their first league title in 26 years, Manchester United embarked on a pre-season tour to South Africa in 1993.

The Reds' squad had the honour of meeting Nelson Mandela, who had been released from 27 years of captivity just three years earlier, with Ireland assistant manager Roy Keane among those fortunate enough to shake his hand.
