Over the past few months, Samsung have been involved in a football-related marketing campaign with the aid of Germany and Bayern Munich legend Franz Beckenbauer.

It started off with cryptic hashtags, strange symbols and hooded men at football matches in England, Germany and Italy.

The whole concept was supposed to see Beckenbauer pick a team of world stars to take on aliens in a winner takes all match.

Well, Samsung have named their Galaxy 11. Lionel Messi is in there as captain of the 13-man squad, Cristiano Ronaldo earned a place and Radamel Falcao has also been called up.

Other big names include Iker Casillas, Stephan El Shaarawey, Wayne Rooney, Oscar and Mario Gotze.

Somehow USA captain Landon Donovan, Russia striker Aleksander Kerzhakov, Bolton and South Korea winger Lee Chung-Yong, Nigeria and Liverpool loanee Victor Moses and Chinese midfielder Wu Lei have been selected to complete the 13-man team.
