Hoffman, who died from a heroine overdose in February, didn't leave any inheritance to his three children.
He said he didn't want his children growing up privileged like 'trust fund' kids.
His children Cooper (10), Tallulah (7) and Willa (5) remain with their mother and Hoffman's long term partner, Mimi O'Donnell.
According to the Mirror, Hoffman repeatedly told his accountant that he wanted his son and two daughters to stand on their own two feet.
The 46-year-old has reportedly refused to set aside large parts of his fortune for his children but said he would like them to be brought up in New York, San Francisco or Chicago.
