As part of the Off the Ball Roadshow in Vicar St tonight, Joe was joined on stage by Liverpool legends Phil Thompson, Mark Lawrenson and Ray Houghton thanks to Carlsberg's Join The Greats campaign.
Thompson spoke passionately about the effect Bill Shankly had on on the club mentioning how the Scot called Anfield "a toilet" and how the training ground at Melwood was a mess.
He also spoke about heading to Shankly's office at Anfield about why he didnt play after his first experience of the first team match day squad which ended with an unused substitutes experience.
Lawrenson, who has 39 caps for the Republic of Ireland spoke to Joe about his medical at Liverpool only happened four months after signing for the club.
The centre back spoke about being picked up from the then manager Bob Paisley when he signed and spoke fondly of the European Cup winning manager saying "if he didnt speak to you, he liked you."
Houghton spoke to Joe about having a similar experience to Lawrenson when he signed from Oxford.
He claimed his medical was a simple as being asked "can you touch your nose?"
The three men, who have won 14 league championships between them claimed the club was very dated despite how successful they were, joking that the clubs physiotherapy department was non existent.
They also spoke about the current regime under Brendan Rodgers.
Phil Thompson claimed the FA Cup semi final was very disappointing but he thinks Rodgers "has done very well" and expects him to be at Anfield next season.
Houghton claimed that the loss of Suarez to Barcelona and Sturridge's injury plagued season have not helped Rodgers citing the lack of goals. The midfielder said that in the circumstances "it wasnt a bad season."
