Phil Mickelson has withdrawn from the US Open.

The six-time runner-up was due to compete in the event at Erin Hills, but it clashed with his daughter's graduation.

Mickelson, who started the day in California, was set to travel to Wisconsin if there was a weather delay, but the early-morning weather forecast, showed he could not reach his tee-time in time.

The US Open remains the only major that Mickelson has yet to win, despite his numerous second-placed finishes. He will be replaced by Mexico's Roberto Castro.
