If there is one image that summed up how much respect Manchester City's players have for Manuel Pellegrini, it was the post-match moment where they threw the manager into the air in celebration.

Pat Nevin joined us on the line tonight and believes that Pellegrini's success was to find a way to foster an excellent relationship with the squad unlike in previous seasons under Roberto Mancini.

"A lot of us noticed the players throwing the manager up and down. You don't do that to a manager unless you have a real like for him and a belief that he's part of the gang and part of the group. It's something that he worked on, the fact that he can be friendly with them and get the best out of them not through fear," said Pat.  

He also backed Pellegrini's decisions such as dropping Joleon Lescott for Martin Demichelis.

Pat also looked ahead to the future and whether City can dominate the Premier League for years to come.
