Ulster back, Jared Payne is back in contention for Friday's Guinness Pro 12 clash with Edinburgh after recovering from a hip injury sustained in the opening day draw with Scarlets.

Outhalf Paddy Jackson and hooker Rob Herring have also recovered from respective head and shoulder injuries suffered in Saturday's disappointing defeat to Zebre.

The province also confirmed that Iain Henderson underwent a successful hip operation last Thursday and his progress will be reviewed in 12 weeks' time.
