Munster legend Paul O'Connell is unsure whether he will ever go into full-time coaching in the future.

He made the comments at the Off the Ball Roadshow in Cork last week where he told Ger Gilroy and Joe Molloy: "I don't know, I don't know. I'm enjoying the break from the game at the moment. I'd be very close to a lot of the Munster players there still, I mean very, very friendly with them and I think a lot of senior players go into coaching and they may not have the relationship that other players would have.

"But I ended up playing with a very young team towards the end of my time - ended up getting on great with them so and I can understand how Jerry (Flannery) kind of does scrum and line-out, it's technical stuff - it's not really the bigger picture so maybe that's a little bit easier but at the moment I'm enjoying being out of the game a little bit but being in it a little bit as well."

Asked if he could see himself coaching further down the line, the former Ireland captain said: "I don't know at the moment. I get asked this question all the time when I first retired or even maybe two years before I retired - it 100% was what I was going to do but towards the end when you have kids and you do see other coaches almost ageing in front of you.

"You see the amount of work that they have to put in - not that I'm afraid of hard work but you would like to be around on Sundays for your kids' games," he added.
