Pat Nevin believes Harry Kane's future at Tottenham will not be leading the line or at No 10.

On tonight's Monday Night Football on Off The Ball, the ex-Chelsea and Everton midfielder and pundit delivered a critique of the in-form Tottenham striker.

He does not think Kane is the most sophisticated player but acknowledged that he is a good finisher. However, he cannot see the England U21 international being the best option as the main centre forward in Mauricio Pochettino's team.

"I do not see Kane as a striker. He doesn't hold the ball up well. He's a big, strong lad but his touch is not good enough," said Pat, who also does not see him as a good option as a No 10 compared to Christian Eriksen or as a midfielder. But he believes that Kane deserves to be starting based on form.

Pat also thinks Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado, who scored the winner against Everton yesterday, is the type of striker who thrives when he does not have to think, but also requires better service.

Meanwhile, league leaders Chelsea dropped points at Sunderland and Pat believes his former club do have weaknesses when it comes to squad depth particularly at the back.

But he also feels the travelling between European games affected them slightly at the Stadium of Light.

However, he does not think Chelsea or Man City will be beaten to the title between now and May.
