Padraig Harrington finished 13 shots behind Jordan Spieth at the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii but that does not tell all about a promising start to 2016 for the Dubliner.

Harrington's four rounds at the Kapalua course were all under par and he shot a final round 67, his lowest of the week, to finish in a tie for sixth place. Harrington's final round ensured he rose six places on the leaderboard from the start of the day.

The three-time major winner came close to recording his first hole-in-one of the season on the 11th, where he had to do with a birdie.

Spieth was the dominant player all week in Hawaii. He only dropped two shots in the 72 holes and finished on -30. Despite the World Number One's dominance of the field, he still does not hold the lowest score in the tournament. Ernie Els finished on -31 when winning in 2003.

After finishing his 2015 with a win in Mexico, Graeme McDowell began 2016 with a T29 finish. The former US Open champion shot a final round of 71. Both Harrington and McDowell are staying in Hawaii to compete in the Sony Open which begins on Thursday in Honolulu.
