It was his first win on the European Tour in over eight years, and Padraig Harrington has re-entered the World's Top 100 following his win at the Portugal Masters.

The 45-year-old shot a bogey-free final round of 65, to beat the defending champion Andy Sullivan by a shot. It was Harrington's first win since the Honda Classic in March 2015.

Harrington's win in Portugal sees the Dubliner re-enter the World's top 100, moving up over 60 places to 97th overall. It is his first time in the top 100 since last year's Open Championship, where he spent at 95th.

The win in Vilamoura, ensures that the Dubliner will compete on the European Tour for the rest of the season, competing in the three events of The Final Series, beginning with the Turkish Airlines Open at the start of November.

Harrington's win also moved him up to 43rd in the Race to Dubai rankings.
