Ex-Ireland defender Paddy Mulligan sees little hope for Ireland in our final Euro 2016 group game - even against an Italy side that may rest a couple of key players.

Paddy, who described the defeat to Belgium in Rocky Horror Show terms and as a sobering experience, joined Oisin Langan on the Rewind podcast ahead of Wednesday's must-win clash from an Irish perspective.

"What Italy can do is they can pick a pass from midfield, they can get on the ball in midfield, they can play, they can keep possession and the defenders defend as if their lives depended on it," he said.

"They don't give away stupid soft goals as Ireland do and that's going to be the big difference. I smile at people saying that Italy won't be trying. Italy will be trying. I don't think that even with all the changes that Italy will be less of a team and also Ireland would have to play 1 million per cent  better than they've done thus far against Sweden or Belgium to go on and get any sort of a result out of this game. I just can't see that happening."
