Former Chelsea full-back Paddy Mulligan believes it's a bit rich of Jose Mourinho to be critical of Antonio Conte given his past behaviour towards other managers.

The Manchester United manager appeared to have words in Italian at full-time with the man now in charge of his former Chelsea over the Italian's decision to call for Blues fans to be more vocal despite being 4-0 up on the Reds in Sunday's Premier League match. The United boss saw that as an attempt at humiliation.

However, Mourinho famously ran down the touchline in celebration when Porto beat Man United in a 2004 Champions League tie, has never held back when referencing Arsene Wenger's career and has also been dismissive of a host of other rival managers down through the years.

Paddy believes the fact that his former club was 4-0 up on his current team got to Mourinho and was the cause of his anger with his opposite number at his former stomping ground.

"He's tried to humiliate other people down through the years and he doesn't like it being done to himself," he said on the Rewind podcast.

"He likes to criticise other players, managers and teams. But when the ball hits him, he's not too happy about it . What really irked him was the fact that Conte went and asked the Chelsea fans to be more vocal because for the previous few minutes, the United fans were moral vocal than the Chelsea fans.

"Conte has got to remember that Chelsea were cruising. The game was over at 2-0. So it's of no significance but because Mourinho was hurting... he didn't want to get beaten at Stamford Bridge but he certainly didn't want to be humiliated and that's exactly what happened because Chelsea could have won by seven."
