Cork thought they had snatched an unlikely smash and grab when Clare's Domhnall O'Donovan got the sliothar near the sideline.

Not renowned for his scoring the corner back forced a replay which is set for September 28th.

It was a blow for Cork but left-half forward Pa Cronin recognised that a draw was the fairest result.

He told Newstalk Breakfast's Oisin Langan:

"It's very hard to describe how we feel coming off the pitch. I remember looking at the clock and it said 72 minutes. I thought we had it but looking back over the game, a draw was a fair result."

Oisin also spoke to Cork selector Johnny Crowley who said that he felt the game should have been blown after two minutes of injury time - which would have given Cork the win.

"I thought we had it won. When the last ball went in, we were gone over the two minutes. The puck out should have been the end of the game - it wasn't! The ref seemed to be running down the field, looking like he was going to blow it but he didn't and that's life."
