The Liberty All Ireland Camogie Championship begins this weekend with some eye-catching ties.

Wexford have won four All-Irelands since 2007, but last year lost out in the semi-finals. Since then, long-serving player Helena Jacob (yes, of the famous Jacob family) has come in as manager and hopes to weave the same magic she has with Waterford IT in the Ashbourne Cup.

The camogie championship is essentially played in a Champions League format with two groups and home and away ties.

Wexford are in the same group as defending champions Galway, 24-time champions Cork and 26-time winners Dublin - although the Dubs haven’t lifted the O’Duffy cup since 1984.

Wexford goalkeeper and two time all star Mags D’Arcy made her senior debut at the age of 15 and has been an ever-present fixture in the team since.

She spoke to Oisin Langan about the season ahead, what they learned from last year and a brand new campaign designed to create a higher profile and bigger following for the sport.
