In November of last year, Ireland lost one of its greatest sporting heroes following the death of Jack Kyle at 88.
Born in Belfast in 1926, Jack Kyle went on to carve out an impeccable sporting career which culminated in being voted the greatest rugby player Ireland ever produced in 2012.
Speaking about the greatness of Kyle, former Ireland captain and rugby pundit Donal Lenihan said: 'The fact that his legacy is still there 60 years after he played in an Irish jersey says everything about him.'
Throughout his stellar career, the former out-half played 46 times for his country in which he featured prominently as part of the storied Five Nations Grand Slam winning team in 1948.
He also won two triple Crowns as well as another Five Nations in 1951 before retiring seven years later. Upon his departure, Kyle was Ireland's most-capped rugby international.
Kyle was also a highly regarded surgeon who worked for a time in Zambia where he developed a deep rooted hatred for racism.
