Kevin Meaney has become the latest Laois player to quit the county's football panel.

The O'Moore men are rock-bottom of Allianz NFL Division 2 after defeat in Westmeath at the weekend and at home to Cavan in their opener.

Now, according to the Irish Independent, it is understood that the Arles/Kilcruise clubman left the panel last week.

Conor Meredith has already withdrawn due to study commitments, and with Craig Rogers and MJ Tierney out and Peter O'Leary recently retired, Meaney's departure is unfortunate timing for the Laois set-up.
