This weekend's big stories in Gaelic football took place in Ulster and Munster. Monaghan reached a second consecutive Ulster final in the former, while Kerry confounded expectations to trounce Cork in the Munster final.

Former Kerry full-forward Dara O'Cinneide admitted he was "very surprised" by what transpired at Pairc Ui Chaoimh when he spoke to us on Off The Ball tonight.

He was surprised that Cork did not have a Plan B once things started to go wrong against Kerry, but also mused whether the Rebels might take time to reach their zenith as they adjust to a new era under Brian Cuthbert.

He also discussed how the dual player issue is "rearing its head" again in Cork.

But he also felt Kerry manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice and his backroom team deserve plenty of credit for their preparation for the Cork match.

Meanwhile Billy Joe Padden joined us to analyse Monaghan's replay win over Armagh in the Ulster semi-final and he spoke about the efficient nature of Mongahan's recent performances.
