Four games for the provinces this weekend and four wins!

You couldn't ask for more than that as Munster, Leinster, Connacht and Ulster all did the business.

But Connacht's giant-killing of Toulouse in France was the result that stole the show.

Former Ireland head coach Eddie O'Sullivan and ex-Leinster and Munster man Trevor Hogan reviewed the weekend's action on Off The Ball's Monday Night Rugby and both of our pundits were impressed by Connacht's performance.

O'Sullivan was impressed that Connacht's victory was not a "smash and grab" performance and believes that it could be a "watershed moment" for the province.

"It wasn't just the victory, it was the manner of the victory. I thought it was a fantastic performance. It wasn't like Toulouse played badly and Connacht were lucky. In fact they had a cracking try which started inside their own 22. This was a brilliant Connacht peformance on all fronts."

Hogan got the impression that Toulouse underestimated Connacht but also felt that the men from the west's belief and aggression was even more significant as they pulled off a 16 - 14 victory which sent shockwaves around Europe.

Indeed, Hogan believes Connacht could shock Toulouse again at the Sportsground this weekend if they can match that performance.

"If Connacht bring that intensity and aggression, they can definitely believe in themselves now. Every province throughout the years has needed a win to give them the momentum and the feeling that they're good enough. Connacht can draw on that," said Hogan.

Meanwhile, Munster defeated Perpignan 36 - 8 but both O'Sullivan and Hogan still saw flaws for the province.

"You have to say that they scored 36 points and scored five tries. But Munster see themselves as Heineken Cup contenders every year. This Perpignan team were very poor and they were missing half their players," said O'Sullivan.

"Munster huffed and puffed in the second half until they got a penalty try in the 65th minute. If you look at Munster's scores, they're best moments came from their forwards taking the game by the scruff of the neck and really pounding the lard out of Perpignan. This balance in their game is still missing at crucial times."

Hogan felt that Munster are much more dangerous when they come around the corner with the likes of Paul O'Connell and Peter O'Mahoney.

Meanwhile Leinster took a "ruthless" win in Northampton to go five points clear at the top of their pool. Hogan was impressed by Eoin Reddan who "set the tempo" and Sean Cronin who played "like an extra outside centre on the field" to allow Leinster to "dominate collisions."

But there could be bad news for Leinster with rumours suggesting that Sean O'Brien and Jamie Heaslip will be leaving for the Top 14 with an announcement set for tomorrow according to French sources.
