Mick O’Dwyer has resigned as Clare manager, leading to suspicions that his career in management could be at an end. O'Dwyer took the decision to step down as Clare manager following his side’s defeat to Laois yesterday in the All-Ireland qualifiers. O'Dwyer has not yet made an announcement on the future of his career.

O’Dwyer took charge of Clare at the start of the current season but at 77 years old it appears the Clare job could be his last, bringing an end to a career that began with Kerry in 1975. He won 8 All Ireland titles with Kerry, along with bringing Leinster success to both Kildare and Laois.

Laois defeated O’Dwyer’s side with a superb second half display, and a final score of 3-17 to 0-10.
