Olympic silver medallists Gary and Paul O'Donovan have progressed to the semi-final of the lightweight men's double sculls at the first World Rowing Cup regatta of the season. 

The pair won their heat and now advance to tomorrow's semi-final.

Meanwhile, Denise Walsh finished top of her heat in the lightweight women's single sculls with a time of 08:07.510. She now progresses to the A final.

Men's pair Mark O'Donovan and Shane O'Driscoll finished fourth in their heat, behind Great Britain, the Netherlands and Spain. They go to the repechage.

Sanita Puspure finished third in her heat in the women's lightweight single sculls, behind Austria's Magdalena Lobnig and Bulgaria's Ekaterina Karsten. She'll also advance to the repechage.
