The Olympic Council of Ireland has confirmed reports that Pat Hickey has been discharged from hospital in Rio and taken to a police station for questioning.

The OCI President temporarily stepped down yesterday after being arrested at his hotel by police investigating illegal ticket sales - and was admitted to hospital shortly afterwards, suffering chest pains.

Sports Minister Shane Ross arrived home to Dublin from Rio this evening ahead of a meeting with the Attorney General tomorrow to discuss the Government's response to recent events.

The terms of reference for an independent inquiry into the Rio ticketing scandal should be known tomorrow.

Minister Ross said that he'd been left shattered by the meeting with Pat Hickey earlier this week - and said it would be extraordinary if the Olympic Council of Ireland doesn't co-operate with the investigation.
